Are you tired of today's incessant ads for things you don't need? Let’s flip the script on the buying frenzy of Black Friday! What if we started a practice of “Fund the Future You Want Friday” instead?

Let's take all the cozy feelings of this long weekend, enhanced by the turkey/dessert dopamine flush, and curl up on the couch to watch games or movies while we scroll for non-profits doing the work we care about. Then let's fund the future we want by making donations to them!

A burst of personal donations during end-of-year giving season is essential for non-profits, and Michael Fields Agricultural Institute is no exception. Even though our staff spend lots of time all year applying for grants from foundations, institutions, and government programs - UNRESTRICTED FUNDING from individual donations is an essential part of keeping employees paid and creating space to move in new directions and say yes to new opportunities throughout the upcoming year.

That's why Giving Tuesday, December 2nd this year, is celebrated globally as a day of generosity and support. This day is super-important for non-profits like ours, as there is a collaborative effort to remind people that charitable organizations exist because of donations. This year's theme is "Together we give, together we grow," and the need to grow support for soil health, water protection, and regenerative farmers has never been greater.

We've got a fun drawing happening between now and Giving Tuesday, thanks to generous donations from supportive partners and collaborators. Everyone who gives between now and December 2nd will be entered into a drawing for either a Starry Nights Farm pastured turkey (local donors, so we can deliver) or a Fields Best Soil Lover's Gift Box (can be shipped).

Everyone who donates before the end of 2025 will get our "Love Soil" magnet and an assortment of stickers so you can SHOW THE LOVE! But we do have some great premiums for folks who sign up to be Recurring Monthy Sustainers.
