Michael Fields Agricultural Institute seeks a skilled videographer or media production team to shoot and produce a series of short, compelling videos that highlight farmer engagement with and field research on regenerative practices. The selected contractor will help document and communicate the impact of perennial agricultural systems. MFAI will provide contacts to appropriate farmers, lead pre-interview meetings on Zoom, and give detailed storyboarding guidance before farm visits. MFAI staff can also be available on-site during shooting.

We are looking for demonstrated experience creating high-quality videos in an agricultural or nonprofit context. The contractor must have strong storytelling and editing skills and a commitment to representing diverse communities respectfully and authentically. We will request portfolio samples and references.

Interested parties should send an email of interest to Kriss Marion at kmarion@michaelfields.org with subject line “Videography Services.”

Application Deadline: August 15, 2025.

This project will begin October 2025 and finished work must be delivered by June 2026.

The videographer will:

  • Film on location at 5 farms in the Upper Midwest (including at least two BIPOC-led farms)

  • Capture footage of field trials, interviews with farmers and project staff, and educational outreach events

  • Create five (5) short-form videos (2–5 minutes each), each tailored to a wide audience to encourage practice adoption

Deliverables

  • Pre-production planning session with MFAI Advancement Team

  • On-site filming (2–3 days per video)

  • Five edited videos with captions, optimized for web and social media

  • Raw footage delivered to MFAI for archiving and future use
