2:00 PM – Soil pit demonstration at Novak Family Farm (4736 State Road 80, Highland, WI)
3:30 PM – Farm tour at Jeff Novak's farm (4576 Speth Rd) – see double cropping soybeans after triticale
4:15 PM – Discussion, drone-seeding demonstration, and on-farm cookout supper (compliments of the Uplands Watershed Group)
Join us to explore no-till and cover crop practices that improve soil health and water infiltration. Dr. Francisco Arriaga will guide us through a soil pit and demonstrate in-field soil tests. We'll share cover crop innovations, and enjoy a delicious supper featuring burgers and shrimp caught by Gulf fishermen and women—whose Dead Zone challenges we help address through our conservation practices.
