About the event
Community Listening Session, Climate Workshop and Brunch
Join us for a Staple Crop Community Listening Session Brunch at Fresher Together Farms in Beaverville, Illinois!
Our goal is to help growers and farmers expand the food supply chain and strengthen local and regional food systems to ensure fairness, resilience, equity, and food and nutrition security through the production of grains and staple crops.
We’ll start our day at the farm with a community brunch and hear about your relationship to staple crops and grains.
At this community listening session, we hope to:
Better understand what crops underserved producers want to grow.
Better understand the barriers that prevent producers from growing, sourcing, or consuming those crops.
Gather community input on our Sauk Village Heritage Grain build.
Guide participants, organizations, and regional USDA offices in future support opportunities that will continue beyond the project’s three years.
RSVP required. The exact location will be sent after RSVP.
